Getting excited.

I’ve been working with a fantastic group of musicians from the coast for months, writing, recording demos, doing exactly what every band would like to achieve, trying to get a record deal.  Well everything is coming together, we picked up a spec with Fortman, we are 3 weeks away from that final demo, then we goto shop, we have already had positive feedback from the labels we shot tracks to.   I have a soild feeling about these guys, hard workers, dedicated and extremely talented.   They deserve this.

Diablo 3 Sucks … :(

I don’t normally get involved with game reviews or judging games, I just play them, if they are good I play again, if they are bad I do not.  But… Blizzard had nearly 10 years to develop a game that could have been amazing, but it seems like they sat around doing nothing for 9 years and 10 months, then made a game real quick while WoW was running smoothly.

I wont be completely negative,  the game was fun while it lasted… the problem with my statement, is that the game can be beaten in a few hours, then what?  Well Blizzard came up with the bright idea that once you beat the game, you should just beat it again… with the exact same storyline and mobs.  Awesome! -_-p

The graphics are bad… I know this is opinionated, but they suck. They are grainy and look like a blur effect has been applied.   You cannot customize your char, you can dye your armor to one of the 5 colors they chose for you, but honestly, that is the only option you have.

Lets talk post game playability!  Ok I’m done…  There is nothing to do, you can level your char all the way to 60 I guess, so that you can show all your friends just how lifeless you really are because you played the same game 3x just to max out something that is completely useless.  No PVP at all, it just simply does not exist,  max party is 4 players,  that should work out fine because anyone playing this more than likely only has 1 friend and its his/her mother and they do not play.

You would think after WOW and Starcraft that blizzard would start to understand the importance of PVP or GVG when it comes to the longevity of a game…

I like easy games,  nothing makes me more happy than winning a rousing game of ‘sit on the couch for an hour’ but this game can be won with just the mouse,  the build tree is non existent, you cannot add stat points, you can only customize slotted gear with 1 of 4 runes,  but your starting stats cannot be tweeked nor can you add points as desired when you level.  4 skill slots are applied to keys 1 2 3 and 4,  then Health Pots on Q…  you can only have 6 skills active at a time, so if you need another skill you have to open the skill menu deactivate the skill you wish to sacrifice and activate the skill you need.  GJ Blizzturd!

I feel as if blizzard used Diablo 3 as a money grab,  anyone who is not completely disappointed with this release should be studied by NIMH because its about the most cut and dry case of denial they will ever observe.   Don’t take my word for it, go out and turn 100$ into pocket change and try it yourself.

Back to writing music… I guess.

Studio Booted

Everything is up and running with the new console, I must be honest, I hate spending money, my grandfather always taught me that you’ll never be rich acting rich.  But this purchase was absolutely successful.  I hardly have the nerve in me to hand over 16k and trust that my horrible internet research and people opinions would all stand up in the face of reality, but what a sigh of relief this has been. The console (Audient asp4816) is a fantastic product and for the price you almost feel as if you have some how ripped audient off.  Fantastic pres, fantastic eqs, full matrix routing, stereo bus compression, 8 auxes, 4 way switchable monitoring, tailback, 4 stereo inputs, 16 busses… The list goes on.   I can’t wait to record my first project through it.   This idea in my head of having a great studio available to anyone at unbeatable prices is really starting to float on its own.
